W.I.L.T. - Marvin. Tha G.

'[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hat I'm listening to' is a weekly series of music that reigns at the top of my personal playlist. Music that I think is cool and deserves a mention and some attention.
This week: Marvin Gaye.

I guess it's just one of those weeks. What can I say. One of the greats. Obviously always in my catalogue, this week I felt like putting him on top. And how happy I am with that decision. What a boss.

No particular song of his can really top the list, as there are just so many good ones. However, I remember having to perform this particular song one time as an assignment / recital while I was still in the Conservatory. Keys and voice. Not an easy assignment I can tell you. 🙂

Enjoy.

Cheers, Coen.

P.s. I felt I had to add (stress, even) the fact that I'm not a big fan of the stunt Marvin's family is currently pulling Pharell. I can't imagine Marvin himself would be happy about that situation either.

But then, as I'm typing this post, my youtube auto-plays the next track in line: this version of one of Earths other greats: Amy Winehouse. Damn what a shame that woman was such a moron in regard to her own health.
Although I definitely think Marvin will forever hold the rights to 'best version', being the original, I also had to post this version, with the awesome blues pianist / music talk show host 'Jules Holland' doing a very nice job on the grand piano.
