Cheerleader – OMI

Easy stuff to play here when you know your chords and patterns, yet very demonstrative showing how cool an simple three-chord part can become when adding a nice basic break-up pattern.

Looking for a nice piano-driven track to suit you beginner Pop-Pianists, I felt OMI’s feel-good-summer-vibin’ track “Cheerleader” -which tops this week charts- could not be left untutorialized. Apart from it being almost exactly what I was looking for, I also got about a gazillion requests for it.

Three chords in a few different orders and combined with a few different patterns make up this super-suitable-for beginners track that exemplifies how a simple set of chords can become quite the cool piano-tune.

Have fun with this one and let me know what you think!

Cheers, Coen.
